Ground Loop Isolator – 3.5mm Stereo Jack Plug to 2 x Male XLR Plugs (1.5m)

This Ground Loop Isolator is used to reduce hum and unwanted noise caused by ground loops when connecting portable audio devices to professional audio equipment.

It features a 3.5mm stereo jack plug on the input and two male XLR plugs on the output, making it suitable for connecting smartphones, tablets, laptops and other portable devices to mixers, amplifiers, active speakers and PA systems.

The built-in dual isolation transformer helps remove electrical interference from the audio signal while also isolating the connected equipment. Housed in a slim metal enclosure with a flexible 1.5 metre cable and moulded connectors with strain relief, it is suitable for both portable and fixed installations.

What is Ground Loop Interference?

Ground loop interference is a common cause of unwanted hum or buzzing in audio systems. It occurs when two connected devices are plugged into different electrical grounds, creating a small voltage difference between them. This can introduce a low-frequency hum, typically around 50Hz (or 60Hz in some countries), into the audio signal.

A ground loop isolator uses isolation transformers to break the direct electrical connection between the two devices while still allowing the audio signal to pass through. This helps eliminate hum and interference without affecting the quality of the audio, making it a simple and effective solution for cleaner sound.
